Jesus faced every fear you can imagine, and the greatest fear of all, death, so that you and I could be free from them forever. If you follow Jesus no matter what anybody else wants or thinks, God promises to remember your name—and no one, not even Pharoah, can thwart God’s promises.
The whole world was created to be a temple, and in the center of his temple God places his own image: humanity. Man and woman were meant to be the image of God in the world—not lifeless idols made of stone reflecting dead pagan gods, but living breathing humans reflecting the living God.
People are desperately looking for hope, for meaning, for understanding, for purpose, for relief from suffering, for forgiveness of all the wrong they’ve done. The God of the Bible offers all of that and we as Christians are in the same position as Jonah. We have the words of life for those in desperate need—though they may sound like words of death.
